OMR duplex printing

Duplex OMR sheets are those sheets of paper which have OMR bubbles or grids on both sides of the sheet. Usually, the OMR bubbles are printed on the single side. However, it is possible to print them on both sides of the same sheet. Nevertheless, as OMR sheets are different from normal sheets of paper, there are certain precautions that you have to take while printing OMR sheets. Let us take a look at them.

• Thick sheets should be used for printing duplex OMR sheets. Thin sheets are not suitable for this purpose as the ink on one side may get seeped onto the other side to form blots or marks which could be mistaken as OMR marks by the software.
  
• In case of offset printing of duplex OMR sheets, special care has to be taken. The OMR sheets are stacked together without any time for the ink to dry. Added pressure on these sheets can also cause blotting or impressions of the ink on the adjacent sheets.
  
• It is important to use thin borders around the OMR components so that the wet ink and pressure does not make an impression on the sheets.
  
• Make sure that both sides of the OMR sheet have index points.
