OMR Sheet Design Sheets with Matrix Block

One of the OMR Sheets Designs or layouts that you can create with Addmen's OMR sheet designing software is the OMR design with matrix block. The matrix type bubbles have four to five rows and four to five answer options. The rows are usually numbered as ABCD and the columns are numbered as PQRS. Such type of block is quite commonly used in IIT Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). You can take a look at the sample OMR sheet that has OMR design with matrix block.

OMR Design with Matrix Block

In this answer sheet, there are three sections with 60 questions. Out of the 60 questions, 12 are matrix type questions. The matrix type blocks are usually used when a group of questions are considered as one. This is used for column matching type questions and also for passage reading based questions. The rows (ABCD) represent the questions and the columns (PQRS) are the option. From every row, the student has to pick one option.

The marking scheme for the matrix type blocks would be different for different examinations. Some examination committees count the marks of each correct answer. This way, even if the student has marked one wrong bubble, he/she will receive marks for the other right answers. However, there are some examination committees that insist that students have to mark all the options correctly to score the marks. In this case, even if the student has answered three answers correctly and one answer incorrectly, he/she will receive zero marks.
